Cortez Hotel Raffle
About six months ago, Nick received another opportunity for an AOK. George, who owns the Cortez Hotel in San Felipe, asked him if he would like to participate in a raffle benefiting the local people. Nick purchased $1000 worth of raffle tickets because the money was going to be used to create food boxes for families in San Felipe. George planned a party for over 400 kids and their families and raffled away a 1998 Ford Ranger truck in early January. Nick received a phone call that he was the winner and headed down to Baja with Brian Nix, Jimmy Lee Cook of Sinister Productions, and Jim “Kettle One” Riley. Upon arrival, Nick inspected all of the schools that he and his team previously worked on and adopted a third school for improvements. The plan for this school is to complete a lot of tile work and build steps from its property to the playground of another kindergarten the AOK crew had already completed, Baja Marina.
After his tour of the schools, Nick and the guys joined the party to receive their new truck. He and the guys placed stickers all over the truck with AOK and Un Taco Racing logos. Once they had placed the final touches, Nick called up his good friend Martin Romo and explained to everyone in attendance that without him AOK wouldn’t exist. Nick handed the keys to the truck over to Martin knowing that he would use it to further help the people of Baja.
