Roof construction and shoe drive wrap up video
In early November, AOK and other volunteers came together to raise and donate money for construction and repairs on the Rancho El Milagro School. Eric Harp, Scott Drumming, Doug Booth, and Mark and C’Ann McMillin gave the money necessary to repair all four roofs of the school, the fences surrounding it, and other small but crucial repairs. While raising the money for the school, Jeff and Bo Golding decided to set a goal of obtaining ninety shoes for the children of the area. With the help of the Feinberg Family and the families of the Harbor View Community in Newport Beach, California, the goal was met.
Nick Johnson and his friends helped to take the shoes across the border in small loads over several trips. On February 12th, Brian Nix and Jim Cook from Air, Land, and Sea Films visited Rancho El Milagro to make inspections of the construction and repairs and pass out the shoes. The children received new shoes and AOK sweatshirts and their school was a cleaner and safer place for learning thanks to the collaborative efforts of many men and women.
Thank you to everyone for your help and dedication to the children of Baja.
