Dwight House Girl Scout Cookie Donation
A former employee and personal friend Lyla Hassel contacted Nick to purchase Girl Scout Cookies from her daughter Alexa. Lyla has been a friend of Nick’s for almost twenty years, so Nick thought it would be fun to present her children with an opportunity to take part in an AOK. Alexa and her brother Nick read and studied the AOK website in order to understand what AOK’s are and why Nick has a heart for them. After they both had read the entire site, Nick offered to purchase $1,000 worth of cookies and donate them to the Dwight House in Santa Ana, California. The brother and sister met Nick on a Saturday morning to hand out the cookies to 90 homeless women. The Dwight House serves as a safe place for homeless women to set up their cots and sleep for the night. Together with Nick, Alexa and Nick Hassel sorted over 250 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies and presented over 3,000 cookies to the women of Dwight House. The women appreciated receiving something other than the staples from Nick and his Jr. AOK Crew.
