Annual Turkey & Ham Drive
Every year, for the past fifteen years, Nick organizes an “AOK Turkey and Ham Drive” for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. Over 300lbs. of turkey and ham are delivered each holiday to various food shelters throughout Orange County, California. Nick began this tradition in 1993 in a humble fashion, he loaded up his car with as much turkey and ham that could fit and drove to several shelters in need of holiday food. This year the tradition continued in the same manner.
Nick loaded his car with 300lbs of turkey and ham and set out for a shelter he has donated to in the past, but upon arrival discovered that it had been shut down. This, however, was not a deterrent. Nick flagged down a person and asked him where he could find the nearest food shelter. The man pointed his finger down a dark and dirty alley. Nick drove on down the alley as a sea of homeless people parted to make a clear pathway for his car. He knew that he was headed in the right direction. Once he reached the shelter he had to get organized and act like he had done this hundreds of times because hundreds of hungry eyes were watching his every move. Nick enlisted the help of the people that were going to enjoy all of this food by having them bring their shopping carts to load up and deliver the turkeys and hams. As his trunk began to empty, many of the people noticed that there were “Nick Baldwin Motorsports” t-shirts by the boxful under all of the food. Once all the food was out, Nick started handing out t-shirts until his stock was gone. The “AOK Turkey and Ham Drive” is simply another opportunity for Nick to bless others in need.
